Christmas markets are a great place to enjoy festive food and drink, shop for quirky gifts for friends and family and maybe even enjoy some music and rides.
Sussex is home to plenty of them, and here are some of the best across the county that you can visit in 2025.

Light Up Shoreham Christmas Market
Light Up Shoreham and its accompanying Christmas market returns on Friday, December 12, this year.
Previous years have included an array of stalls and local businesses open late, as well as funfair rides, food and drink, Santa and live music.
Organisers for this year’s event have teased that there will once again be fabulous performers and brilliant local businesses staying open for late-night shopping, and more.
Ardingly Winter Fair
Held annually at the South of England Showground, the Ardingly Winter Fair is taking place this weekend, on November 22 and 23.
There will once again be a large selection of stalls with artisan products, gifts, and food and drink from independent and local vendors.
The event will also have a street food area with live music, plus a children’s funfair and Santa’s Grotto, with tickets and more information available online.
Lewes Christmas Market
Lewes’ late-night shopping and Christmas Market event takes place on December 4.
There will be more than 60 stalls, selling plenty of things for Christmas.
The event will be held inside the Lewes Town Hall, with access via the Fisher Street entrance.
Artelium’s Christmas Makers Market
Located at the Artelium Wine Estate near the village of Streat, this market is described as a “contemporary showcase of local craft and produce with “unique, one-of-a-kind items”.
The Artelium Makers Market will take place on Saturday, December 6, from 10am to 4pm.

Brighton Etsy Team Christmas at the Dome
While there is no main Brighton market this year, the Brighton Etsy Team will be hosting their 10th annual Christmas Market with more than 90 local designers, artists and makers selling their wares.
It will be at the Brighton Dome venue on December 6 from 10am to 4pm.
The venue has disabled access and facilities for wheelchair users, and a café will be selling hot drinks and light refreshments throughout the day.
