Cllr Roy Galley, chairman of East Sussex County Council, has welcomed the Sussex Tourism Alliance, which officially launched at a recent event at The Grand Hotel in Brighton.
The alliance aims to unite partners, advocate for the sector, and create a unified strategy to promote tourism in the region.
Cllr Galley said: “I was delighted to attend the event which marks the beginning for this new collaborative group.
“The alliance will bring together businesses, local councils and industry bodies to give the sector a stronger voice and improve the experiences of visitors to Sussex.
“East Sussex is home to many iconic cultural sites, amazing attractions and places of great historical interest and importance, all of which are incredibly important to the county’s economy and will benefit significantly from the new alliance.”
He also noted how the alliance will build on existing programmes.
Cllr Galley said: “The alliance will complement the great work already being done in the county through the Local Visitor Economy Partnership, which aims to enhance Sussex’s reputation as a thriving and vibrant destination, and Experience Sussex, created to improve the visitor economy and showcase all the county has to offer.”
