Metrobus, which serves East and West Sussex, will be adding more buses to its schedule between Crawley bus station and Redhill.

The special services will run on the 10 and 100 routes, alongside the 200 route from Bewbush to Gatwick and the 400 from Stone Quarry to Redhill.

The Christmas Day services have been provided using funding from Gatwick Airport.

All four routes will also run on Boxing Day, alongside services on routes 2, 3, 4, 5 and 20.

Brighton and Hove Buses will also be operating services on the 28 route between Brighton and Lewes for the first time, as well as services on the 1, 5B, 7, 12 and 49 routes.

More than one million people across the UK are expected to be working on Christmas Day, increasing the need for public transport.

Christmas Day local bus journeys have risen from 60,000 in 2019 to more than 100,000 in 2024, according to the Confederation of Passenger Transport.

Full timetables are available on the Metrobus and Brighton and Hove Buses websites.
