This acquisition will significantly boost Ventro Group’s national electrical and security capabilities.

Founded in 1979, HJS has a long-standing reputation for providing a range of services, including electrical, security, fire compliance, and building refurbishments across the region.

The acquisition accelerates Ventro’s strategy to offer fully integrated building compliance solutions.

Ballards LLP provided comprehensive support during the acquisition process.

Their corporate finance and tax teams managed financial and tax due diligence, deal structuring, and sale and purchase agreement coordination.

James Maynell, a partner at Ballards LLP, said: “Supporting HJS through this milestone deal has been a real privilege.

“Our joined-up approach ensured a smooth process and a standout result.

“It also reflects the growing strength of our Corporate Finance team across the Midlands following our expansion into Birmingham.”

The sale was completed in November 2025.

Elizabeth Parsons, a director at HJS, praised Ballards LLP,

She said: “Ballards were exceptional from start to finish.

“Their clarity, professionalism, and relentless attention to detail kept the entire transaction running seamlessly.”

Adding HJS to its portfolio will allow the company to offer a broader range of services within the electrical and security sectors.

Harvey Melvin, group CEO of Ventro, said: “This acquisition marks an exciting step for Ventro, significantly expanding our electrical and security offering and enhancing our industry-leading expertise.”

The acquisition also complements Ventro’s existing plan to deliver fully integrated building compliance solutions on a national scale.

Despite the acquisition, HJS operations remained uninterrupted.

Ballards LLP is a Midlands-based accountancy firm offering a range of integrated services, including audit, tax, and consultancy.
