The company was founded in 1987, buying and selling second-hand cookers out of a garage in Leicester. Now they have built a 200,000 square foot warehouse which it operates nationwide deliveries from.
Its next step in expansion is to begin servicing key areas across Cumbria. As opposed to most major UK high-street retailers, the team will work to facilitate delivery free-of-charge for customers.
In order to make this possible, all deliveries are carried out by the company’s own fleet of vehicles and drivers who are trained in the installation of major domestic appliances.
Commenting on the expansion, Mark Smithson, CEO of Marks Electrical said: “This is an exciting move for Marks Electrical, we know there is opportunity in Cumbria and we’re looking forward to our expansion into the area. Our unique business model means that we can offer customers in Cumbria more than they would traditionally expect from high-street retailers.
“Our free delivery service should be a game changer for, we are able to help customers avoid extortionate delivery fees through the utilisation of our own fleet and drivers which are all trained in installation – no third parties. It’s a win-win!
“We’ve invested over £100,000 in additional vehicles, adopted new shift-patterns and meticulously planned for the move to ensure customers can get our products when they need them and without added costs or stress.”
