The project by Blunsdon Parish Council finished just before Christmas, according to a Facebook post by the council.
The ‘Trees for Climate’ grant enabled the planting of 4,000 native trees along Ermin Street, forming a new hedge.
Furthermore, the path towards Blunsdon Hill was enhanced with the addition of 7,000 flower bulbs and 15kg of wildflower seed.
The undertaking was not without its challenges, as the team had to navigate a high number of underground utilities.
Despite these difficulties, the results have been “warmly received”.
Blunsdon Parish Council thanked the contractors who supported the project and said they will now focus on “ongoing maintenance”.
This is to ensure the benefits of the landscaping work continue to be enjoyed by both locals and wildlife in the years to come.
They added the council remains dedicated to maintaining Blunsdon as an attractive and “pleasant” place to live and work.
