The Channel 4 show is now entering its 26th series, with previous episodes seeing everything from giant curved glass homes to mansions built out of clay and former water towers.

Now, more keen builders are ready to take on the task, not for the faint-hearted, as Kevin travels around the UK to see the new builds in Grand Designs.

TOMORROW: Fancy skipping the time-consuming, tortuous and messy processes of normal building, and having a near-finished house delivered straight to your plot?

Last week, artist Sarah kicked off the series with a radical super-sustainable home that combined living quarters with a studio and an art gallery.

This week, couple Pete and Aey hope to create their dream home on a rural West Sussex plot.

Pete and Aey plan to construct a factory-built house being made in Wales on a rural West Sussex plot.

The pair will begin their project by demolishing an order property to make way for their brand new one.

However, things do not go to plan when they came across two very big problems.

The old house has been taken over by bats, and moving five gigantic modules down tiny lanes from Wales to Sussex turns out not to be easy.

“But there are two big hurdles – bats and transporting the five giant loads by lorry to West Sussex!”

Grand Designs is on Channel 4 on Wednesday evenings at 9pm and is available to stream on All4.
