The Environment Agency has issued five flood alerts, warning that high river levels on Tuesday December 9 may lead to flooding.
Minor flooding is anticipated at the River Adur East Branch from 4pm which could affect fields, gardens, and potentially the A281 at Mock Bridge near Shermanbury.
Fields and roads are also expected to be affected at the Upper Ouse, with the potential for minor flooding from noon, affecting fields near Sloop Lane, and roads at Fletching Mill Bridge and Sharpsbridge.
The areas surrounding the Western Rother and Aldingbourne and Barnham Rifes in West Sussex could also be affected.
An alert is also in place for Cuckmere River in East Sussex.
The alerts come as a result of predicted rainfall overnight from Monday into Tuesday.
The agency said that river levels could rise higher than last weekend’s levels.
