Active Eastbourne and Lewes, a collaboration between One You East Sussex and East Sussex County Council, is launching the Fit for All Festival, featuring physical activity sessions in Eastbourne and the Lewes district to encourage people to get moving and try something new.

The festival will run across the weekend of Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15, 2026.

To view the full programme, stay updated and book free sessions, visit active-el.org.uk/fit-for-all-festival.

Mark Beresford, lead of the Active Eastbourne and Lewes partnership, said: “It’s great to see so many local organisations and instructors from the Active Eastbourne and Lewes partnership taking part and offering free physical activity sessions for the community.

“Encouraging even a few people to start or continue being more active can have a hugely positive impact on their health and wellbeing.”

Organised with the support of local organisations and instructors, the festival aims to make physical activity accessible to all.

Free sessions will be delivered by community partners, including cycling, yoga, Pilates, circuits, Tai Chi, walking, running, community garden, sailing and nutrition advice.

Residents will also have the chance to meet local providers and try activities close to home, all delivered in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Mr Beresford said: “With activities designed for every age, ability and fitness level, the aim is simple: to help local people feel healthier, more confident and more connected by showing you how powerful movement can be.”

He emphasised the importance of small changes, adding: “A core message of the festival is that movement is for everyone. Small steps can make a big difference.

“Research shows that just 10 minutes of daily activity can boost energy, lower stress, improve sleep and support long-term health.”

The festival also highlights the community benefits of moving together, with group activities designed to reduce loneliness, build friendships and support healthy, active lifestyles for all ages.

While most events will take place over the festival weekend, some sessions will also run during the week beginning March 9.
