By joining the well-established buying group, the merchant will now benefit from competitive deals with leading Suppliers.

Colchester-based roofing merchant Total Roofing has become an NBG Partner, aiming to accelerate growth through improved purchasing power and the backing of a collaborative network of Suppliers and independent merchants.

By joining a well-established buying group, Total Roofing will now benefit from competitive deals with leading Suppliers such as Sandtoft Roof Tiles, Etex Exteriors, Swish Roofline Plastics, Fakro, Keylite, Cromar and many others including deals outside of the Roofing Category aiding expansion and diversification of product ranges stocked and sold. As an NBG Partner, Total Roofing will also have immediate access to NBG’s online Hub and a network of merchants sharing expertise and support.

Total Roofing first made contact with NBG approximately three years ago. At the time the company employed four people and, understanding that NBG partnership is a commitment as well as an advantage, decided to wait until its team had grown before joining.

Business Director at Total Roofing, Dean Wicks, later renewed discussions with Phil Bonar, NBG’s Head of New Partner Development and Recruitment, and the company was voted into the group in just two months, joining formally on 1 November.

Wicks said: “We were looking for ways to help our business grow and several Partners had told us joining NBG was a smart move, so when the time was right, we jumped at it. The better deals are great, but it’s about the support and connections that come with being part of NBG. The Conference in Glasgow was a great example of that; it was a fantastic opportunity to meet Partners properly and everyone we spoke to has been so helpful in offering support and guidance.

“We’ve also had an influx of Supplier contact since joining and it’s given us plenty to consider as we look at future routes for the business.”

Operating from a single depot at present, Total Roofing was founded eight years ago and is already planning to open a new branch soon to expand the range of products it stocks, using access to NBG’s deals as a springboard.

Bonar said: “We’re extremely pleased to be welcoming Total Roofing into NBG. The team recognised how our networked approach and sector expertise could support their next phase of growth. It’s great to see them eyeing expansion and recognising the role NBG can play in making this happen. We’re always on hand to support and we’re looking forward to seeing them continue to grow.”
