The bathroom isn’t traditionally seen as the heart of the home, but given it’s the first place we stumble into each morning — and the last stop before bed — it deserves a little more credit.

The standout bathrooms in this year’s UFurnish.com Home Awards prove that with a bit of imagination, any space can be transformed, no matter the size or the budget.

From jaw-dropping renovations, to effortlessly stylish spaces on a budget, the UFurnish.com Home Awards celebrate outstanding talent across 20 categories, covering interiors, gardens, furniture innovation and home accessories.

In partnership with Metro, voting for the awards is now open, showcasing the home owners, influencers, innovators, retailers and manufacturers transforming living spaces across the UK.

The bathrooms we’ve rounded up here are just some of the nominees ii the Best Bathroom category.

From Bridgerton-worthy wallpaper to gleaming copper tubs, they’ve undergone major transformations, making even the smallest spaces feel grand.

Take a look for some inspiration, and don’t forget to vote for your favourite.

    A Mediterranean marvel

The after result has all the rustic charm and serenity of the Mediterranean (Picture: Abbey Brown)

When Abbey Brown first moved in, she gave her bathroom a coat of green paint for a budget-friendly refresh. But after discovering serious water damage and mold, she had to strip it back to the brickwork. She took it as a chance to rethink her aesthetics, opting for a Mediterranean feel instead.

The bath came out to make way for a large walk-in shower, which she paired with contrasting terracotta hexagon tiles on the floor, and blue antique tiles in a gold waterfall shower.

The olive green paint might break the old ‘blue and green should never be seen’ rule, but here it works beautifully, adding rustic charm.

Wooden furniture and accessories keep the space feeling warm and timeless.

Victorian heritage with a contemporary twist

Blending traditional and modern interior styles is very on trend (Picture: Andrea Walton)

Andrea Walton set out to blend two aesthetics in her partial wet room: Victorian heritage with a contemporary twist.

You can really see the mix at play, with a luxurious roll-top tub and iron radiators, sitting alongside a modern walk-in shower.

The colour scheme is bold but balanced. Cherry pink upper walls pop against a black and white feature wall, giving the space a mod-inspired edge.

The white tiled shower wall with black grout and edging feels fresh and graphic, and a cherry-print bath mat is a playful finishing touch.

    A Regency daydream

The upcycled antique dresser makes a unique bathroom vanity (Picture: Anoushka Lancaster)

Anoushka Lancaster’s approach was to treat the bathroom like any other room in the house, rather than one that’s too-often forgotten.

She repurposed an old storage cupboard and turned it into something that feels straight out of a Regency daydream.

Floral wallpaper that wouldn’t be out of place in a master bedroom lines the walls.

The designer had a bespoke pink made for this tub (Picture: Anoushka Lancaster)

Anoushka also added an upcycled antique dresser, painted the freestanding bathtub in bespoke pink hue, added a countertop and installed floral painted basins.

Gold taps come straight out of the wall and gold-framed mirrors dial up the opulence.

    Copper luxe

Fancy a soak? (Picture: Anthea O’Neil)

Anthea O’Neil’s bathroom, featuring a copper bathtub snapped up as an ex-display bargain, is all about calm and serenity.

Green tiles, air-purifying plants and a double vanity with his and hers sinks give the space a luxe, hotel-style feel.

Twin basins add a luxe hotel vibe and give a couple personal space (Picture: Anthea O’Neil)

It’s not just beautiful, it’s practical too, saving time in the mornings and creating personal space.

    Bathroom disco

Fabulous! It’s like a disco in here! (Picture: Estelle Bilson)

Estelle Bilson started with a very basic, very white 20-year-old bathroom and a budget of practically £0.

She turned to pre-loved pieces and scored an original 1970s French suite on eBay for just £20, complete with taps and bath.

She fitted it herself and paired it with period-correct tiles to create an opulent, retro-inspired space, taking cues from Biba and Studio 54. The result is a total transformation.

A downstairs loo with main character energy

This loo has edge and a sense of humour (Picture: Jodie Kemp)

Can a downstairs loo have main character energy? Jodie Kemp’s little WC certainly does.

A sliding door maximises space, while black and white hallway tiles flow seamlessly into a pink and white colour scheme.

Ostrich-print wallpaper brings a surreal, cheeky twist, and sarcastic, sweary wall art keeps guests on their toes. Proof that you don’t need square footage to make a bold statement.

    A cartoon loo

But now it’s pop art! (Picture: Becca Collier-Cook)

Cobalt blue for the loo? Absolutely. Becca Collier-Cook transformed her tiny box bathroom from beige and boxy to brilliant.

A framed mirror reflects the pop art-style painted window, and playful decorations add a cartoonish sense of fun.

From drab to fab, this little space has plenty of personality.
