David Brown has been confirmed as the new chair and interim president of both the National Access & Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) and the Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS), following the death of Wayne Connolly.
Brown, the immediate past chair of both organisations, has resumed the leadership roles in line with pre-agreed governance arrangements.
He will remain chair until June 2028 when an independent chair is due to be appointed under a long-term governance transition plan, the NASC said in a statement.
CISRS vice-president Sarah Klieve is scheduled to succeed Brown as the organisations’ president in June.
The NASC and CISRS boards said the transition periods aim to maintain “continuity and stability” and to honour Connolly’s vision for stronger, more transparent governance.
The governance review includes plans to bolster independence and representation across both organisations.
Brown said: “Wayne was an exceptional leader who cared deeply about this industry and about doing the right thing for its future. While his loss is felt profoundly, the strongest way we can honour him is by delivering the governance reforms he championed.”
NASC chief executive Clive Dickin said that both organisations remain “firmly member-led” and will continue to support long-term success in the scaffolding and access sector.
