There’s a whole range of roles on offer

    06:00, 04 May 2021Updated 12:41, 04 May 2021

Derby Homes has revealed it has vacancies and is looking to take on those in need of work for apprenticeships.

The housing manager has roles available in business administration, housing and surveying, along with a range of construction trades, including electrical, joinery, plumbing and plastering.

Applications are open to anyone who is over 16 and is not in full-time education – salaries are in-line with the National Minimum Wage.

A Derby Homes spokesperson said: “We provide our apprentices with transferable qualifications and work experience to help them achieve a future career with us or another employer.

“We aim to educate all apprentices to level three. Depending on your level of study, your apprenticeship will take anywhere between one and four years to complete.

“Our apprentices are treated as employees, are part of our balanced workforce and work to the same terms and conditions as our other staff.”

Apprentices also have access to recognised trade unions for representation and consultation.

They added: “You’ll also have the chance to get involved in community projects, as part of our commitment to social value and making a difference for people living in local communities.

“This might include refurbishing community centres or visiting local schools to raise awareness of apprenticeships as a career role.”

More information can be found by visiting www.derbyhomes.org and applications can be made via Find An Apprenticeship on www.gov.uk

Meanwhile, Derby Adult Learning Service is offering a range of support to jobseekers, including a course to help candidates gain a qualification construction.
