SkillCraft Youth Internship, in partnership with Urban Construction Services, is inviting young Bermudians aged 18–24 to apply for the new Trades Skills Internship, a 13-week certified program that combines classroom training with real-world experience in the trades industry.

A spokesperson said, “The program will run from January 12 to April 10, 2026, giving participants the opportunity to gain certification, develop hands-on trade skills, and work alongside industry professionals. Interns will spend two days per week in training with Urban Construction Services and three days per week in paid, on-site experience with a local construction or trades company.”

“Our internships are about helping young people explore careers and find their path in a supported way,” said SkillCraft’s Executive Director, Margot Shane. “There are incredible opportunities for fulfilling careers in Bermuda’s trades sector — this program helps young Bermudians gain the skills, confidence, and certification they need to start that career in trades.”

The spokesperson said, “The internship is accepting five interns for the pilot program and any interested persons between the ages of 18-24 are encouraged to apply.

“SkillCraft is also seeking five construction businesses to serve as hosts for the interns. Hosts provide valuable mentorship and on-the-job experience, while SkillCraft and Urban Construction Services handle all training, certification, and support.”

Allanette Hayward, Founder of Urban Construction Services said, “We are excited to support the next wave of young Bermudians entering the trades. This internship gives young people real exposure to the industry, guided training, and a chance to build confidence alongside experienced professionals. It also offers local businesses a meaningful, structured way to help grow the talent our island needs for the future.”

The spokesperson said, “Applications for both interns and host businesses are open until November 28, 2025. Interested applicants can learn more and apply online at www.skillcraft.bm/tradesinternship.”
