The Gorge Café on South Street in Dorchester burned down in the early hours of December 9 last year.
Around 50 firefighters from stations across the county were called to tackle the serious blaze just after 3.30am, with nearby properties evacuated for safety reasons.
Now, it has been revealed that the cause of the fire was most probably an electrical fault.

A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire report states the most probable cause of the fire was a fault with an electrical item.”
Progress continues to rebuild the area, with Andrew Faber, managing director of Jordan & Faber saying to the Echo: “We continue to work closely with the loss adjusters, clients, structural engineers, designers, and licensed contractors to coordinate the next stages.
“At No. 38, works have now moved firmly into the reinstatement phase, with the structure secured and reconstruction underway. The remainder of the site remains complex, and safety on site remains paramount as we work diligently toward the timely reinstatement of these High Street buildings.”
