The change is introduced annually as demand for green waste disposal typically falls at this time of year.
According to the council, reducing collections during the colder period also allows staff to be reassigned to other essential winter tasks.
These include supporting gritting operations, assisting with general maintenance and helping to manage the increase in recycling often seen over the festive season.
Householders who need to dispose of garden waste between scheduled collections can continue to use the county’s three household recycling centres, all of which have dedicated garden waste skips available.
Wrexham Council is encouraging residents to sign up for its email alert system to ensure they receive timely updates about any changes to their waste and recycling services.
These notifications provide reminders about upcoming collections and highlight any disruptions that may occur due to weather conditions.
Residents can also check their bin day online, which may be particularly useful throughout the winter period when collection patterns differ from the rest of the year.
Further information about the garden waste collection service, including guidance on what can be placed in green bins and details of the revised winter schedule, is available on the Wrexham County Borough Council’s website.
