West Midlands Fire Service sent six crews to tackle the blaze on  Spring Road Industrial Estate, Wolverhampton just after midnight (December 6).

Residents in the surrounding area were warned to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution.

A post on X, which was shared at around 12.29am, said: “We have 6 crews in attendance at a fire on Spring Road Industrial Estate, Wolverhampton.

“As a precaution, if you live or work nearby, please keep doors and windows closed. Avoid the area, where possible.”

The fire service has since issued an update confirming crews are continuing to tackle the blaze.

A spokesperson for the fire service added: “We still have a number of crews in attendance at this incident, with progress being made. Local residents and business are advised to keep doors and windows shut at this time.”

A spokesperson for City of Wolverhampton Council also said: “Fire crews are still in attendance at the incident at Spring Road industrial estate but progress is being made. Local residents and business are advised by West Midlands Fire Service to keep doors and windows shut at this time.”
