Oxford Council has launched a “simple” waste collection system that it says will be “quick, simple and easy to use”.
OXWaste is a new online platform from the city council for booking bulky waste collections, bin cleaning and business waste online.
The local authority’s cabinet member for citizen focused services and council companies said people want services that are “quick, simple and easy to use”.
Councillor Nigel Chapman added: “OXWaste delivers exactly that.

“Residents and businesses can now book bulky waste collections and bin cleaning online in minutes, without needing to call the council.
“It’s a step forward in making everyday tasks more convenient, while also helping keep our neighbourhoods clean.”
Found at www.oxwaste.co.uk , the council said that discount arrangements remain exactly the same and that most unwanted items can be collected from outside the home from just £23.50 per item.
Oxford Direct Services (ODS) also delivered the new system, and its managing director said it brings together “everything we stand for”
Simon Howick of the company wholly owned by the city council said: “At ODS, our purpose has always been doing good by delivering essential services in a way that creates real value for our communities.
“OXWaste is a natural extension of that.
“It brings together everything we stand for: local delivery, social impact and better customer experiences, all made easier through smart technology.
“We’re proud to launch something that improves day-to-day life for our customers.”
