Brighton and Hove City Council have announced the temporary closure will begin on Monday, December 1.

The closure will affect the section of Hodshrove Lane between its junctions with Hodshrove Road and Broadfields Road.
The existing one-way traffic order in Broadfields Road will be temporarily suspended to allow for two-way access.
The council has stated that the order is necessary for contractors to install a new drainage connection.
Pedestrian access will be maintained, and a signed diversion route will be in place for vehicular traffic.
The completion of the works is expected to be February 9, 2026.
The council has announced that the order is being made under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
