The BOOST (Bishop’s Organisation for Outstanding School Transformation) initiative was officially launched this month at Bishop Wordsworth’s Grammar School.
The BOOST initiative is a school-wide project aimed at enhancing and rejuvenating the school’s buildings and grounds to create a more welcoming environment.
The launch weekend saw staff and students give up part of their weekend to work on the project.
Some of the activities included planting bulbs to ensure a burst of colour in the seasons ahead, adding greenery to outdoor spaces, and painting classrooms with bright new colours.
The initiative was led by staff members Nikki Mesnard and Helena Elliot.
The project was supported by the local community, with donations of paint, decorating materials, plants, and bulbs from Bishop Wordsworth’s parents, Wilton Garden Centre, Salisbury Crown Decorating Centre, Wickes, and Salisbury Dulux Decorator Centre.

Head of Development and Alumni Relations at Bishop Wordsworth’s said: “This transformation would not have been possible without the generosity of our local community.
“We are incredibly grateful to Bishop Wordsworth’s parents, Wilton Garden Centre, Salisbury Crown Decorating Centre, Wickes, and Salisbury Dulux Decorator Centre, who kindly donated paint, decorating materials, plants, and bulbs.
“The BOOST initiative is just the beginning of an ongoing journey to make Bishop’s a place where learning thrives in an inspiring environment.
“By working together, we have shown the power of community action and the difference it can make when everyone contributes their time, skills, and resources.”
The BOOST initiative aims to continue enhancing the school environment, ensuring it remains a place where students and staff can thrive.
