Adur and Worthing Councils’ Joint Overview and Scrutiny Committee (JOSC) will review the strategy, named ‘Fair, Green & Local’, and is inviting the public to participate during the open question period.
The JOSC, an elected body comprising councillors from Adur and Worthing, is responsible for holding decision-makers accountable.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 6, in the Gordon Room at Worthing Town Hall from 6.30pm.
The committee will question Paul Brewer, the councils’ new chief executive, along with Adur leader Councillor Jeremy Gardner and Worthing leader Councillor Sophie Cox, on both the incoming and outgoing strategies.
The ‘Fair, Green & Local’ strategy outlines the councils’ vision for 2025-2028, building on previous initiatives and community engagements.
It focuses on three main principles: a fairer, greener, and more local future.
The strategy also includes a draft plan detailing specific actions and projects.
Before the meeting, residents can familiarise themselves with the strategy at democracy.adur-worthing.gov.uk.
Feedback from the meeting will be used to finalise the strategy, which will then be presented to the councils’ Joint Strategic Committee for adoption in December.
Residents can submit questions to the committee by emailing democratic.services@adur-worthing.gov.uk by midday on Monday, November 3.
The meeting can be attended in person or is available afterwards online.
